The 11th Annual SpotLight on the Southwestern USA
April 16-19, 2009 - Pre-Event (Navajo Nation)
April 19-21, 2009 - Conference (CasaBlanca Resort - Mesquite, NV)
The 11th Annual SpotLight on the Southwest will provide even more
opportunities in 2009! The Conference will be held April 19-21, 2009
at the CasaBlanca Resort in Mesquite, NV, and will be preceded by a SpotLight
on Navajo Pre-FAM, April 16-19, 2009. For the first time, the pre-FAM
will be open to suppliers as well as operators, and will involve a special
educational function, conducted at the Navajo High School in Kayenta.
The event will involve interaction with local students interested in the
tourism profession.
SpotLight on the Southwestern USA is a tourism conference which combines
educational seminars, networking functions and a trade show. Operators
are primarily domestic (including Canada) and range from small operations
to large receptive companies (and everything in between). The ratio of
suppliers to operators is never more than 2.5 to 1.
Spotlight is casual and intimate. We don't just network - we build relationships
at Spotlight. There are three days of inter-action in which to conduct
business. The goal is to build lasting relationships. New tour itineraries
to off the beaten path destinations are highlighted, using the closest
Southwestern gateway cities as arrival and departure points.
What people are saying about Spotlight:
"Thank you for arranging SpotLight so well! The impact on my life was
multi-dimensional: professional, personal & spiritual."
Carroll Driscoll - Travel Turtle Tours
"I came to the event with specific goals… to learn about new attractions and opportunities and to learn more about the Southwest Native culture, as well as, to ultimately come up with ideas for several new group itineraries and components for several existing programs. My goals were met and it was a wonderful experience."
Scott Farrell - Sports Leisure Tours
"Thank you seems like such a small thing to say for all the work you
have put into SpotLight. Our company will benefit from much of the information
I am bringing home."
Loretta Layden - Select Holidays
"Thank you for all your hard work putting together this year's SpotLight.
So far, it looks like it will be the most successful one for my hotel.
Thanks again for a tremendous SpotLight."
Wes Clark - Ramada Inn and Suites Foothills Resort
"I will never be able to thank you enough for such an incredible experience.
Not only was the SpotLight on the Southwest a treasure trove of resources
for me, but the FAM was one of the most awesome trips I have ever taken
in my life….. You are to be commended on the superior product that you
have made available to us in the industry. I will be talking up Spotlight
on the Southwest to everyone I know."
